Black teas are made from the fully oxidized camellia sinensis (tea) leaves. They produce a hearty, deep, rich flavour in an amber-coloured brew. Black teas are a natural source of antioxidants which are responsible for neutralizing cell-damaging free radicals. (‘2 cups of black tea has the equivalent antioxidant activity as found in 7 glasses of orange juice’. Tea Association of Canada).
